Tara grew up amongst food lovers, in a family of fantastic cooks and bakers who value their time together at the table above all else. Raised in the country but currently a city dweller, she is inspired by both: the pace, the trees, the space of the rural; the interaction, the vibrancy, the layers of the urban. Indeed, whether in studio or on location, Tara is equally comfortable, happy, and inspired. In fact she loves the mix, and moves seamlessly between the controlled environment of the studio and the come-what-may challenges of shooting on location. Equally fluid is her ability to tell stories through varied media. Her eye for crafting stills translates naturally into directing motion and creating content that is known for its approachability and realness.
In addition to a BFA in Art Photography from Syracuse University, Tara also spent many years honing her editing and production skills as a photo editor at domino, Real Simple, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. She has been recognized in PDN's 30 Photographers to Watch, Communication Arts' Fresh Column, and American Photography 28 and 32.
