Douglas Friedman & Kraft Turn Up The Heat
Douglas Friedman's work with Kraft on their "Get Me Zesty" salad dressing campaign has recently been turning a lot of heads and for good reason. We first wrote about the playfully suggestive television and print campaign back in April, but it was an ad in People magazine that's stirred up the most reactions. The ad pictures hunky actor Anderson Davis (aka @TheZestyGuy on Twitter) lying on a picnic blanket, and who would otherwise be naked save for a strategically placed corner.
It's very spicy indeed and perhaps a little too hot for some, like the conservative group "One Million Moms," who have taken to protesting the ads. People have split into two camps and the Today Show has even launched their own poll to track people's opinions. So far, the controversy has been covered by publications like The Huffington Post, ABC News, Jezebel and ADWEEK. So what do you think? Is it too hot or just right? Let us know your opinion on Twitter at @bareps and remember to hashtag #getzesty.
