Hi, I’m SABINE SCHEER.
I’m a photographer specializing in still life, food and drink, animals and everything shiny, liquid, feathery, glittery, pink and fluffy!
One thing all my images have in common is my precise concentration on details. I’m obsessed with details, even more details with even more texture. My photography is conceptual and I think in series, rarely in single images. With persistence, I always strive for straight lines and perfect results. My images are clean, clear and simple. They have their own individual and three-dimensional lighting characteristics and since I am an absolute expert in lighting techniques, which I also teach at university, I’m often called “Fairy of Light” or “Dr. Flash”.
Born in 1974 in Saarlouis, Germany and with a solid professional background in photography. After graduating from school, I started a two-year apprenticeship as a photographer in a large-scale photo studio for commercial and industrial photography. Subsequently I studied visual communication with a focus on photo design at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund, Germany. During my years of studies, I lived in New York City for a total of over two years, where I worked as assistant and studio manager for Hans Neleman and John Curry, among others.
In 2003, I established my own photo studio in Düsseldorf, Germany, and when I’m not shooting in other studios around the world, this is the place where most of my images and ideas come to life and where I shoot comissioned work, e.g. for Porsche, Procter & Gamble, Nikon Europe, Swarovski, L’Oreal, Starbucks China, etc…
My world is not blurred, but always in focus. And my world is in color and never black and white.
