We Are The Rhoads for Kinfolk Magazine
We Are The Rhoads capture a summer photo essay about hitting the hills for Kinfolk Magazine. Kinfolk's cool niche community of artists share an interest in good food and the culture of small gatherings. In the words of editor Nathan Williams, the publication's fourth volume promotes "meaningful ways to connect and entertain...celebrating long-standing traditions we've always cherished, while also reminding ourselves to start a few of our own."
We Are The Rhoads shot on location in the wilds of Malibu State Park. The photography duo captures the spirit behind jumping in a car with a few friends and getting away for the weekend. The Rhoads describe the idea as "a sense of abandonment from the worries of life for a weekend respite together with friends." They documented the wilderness adventure of driving, hiking, and a swim in the local creek, all ending in a campfire chili dinner and s'mores.
Kinfolk is sold globally and available in the US in stores such as Anthropologie and Williams-Sonoma. The iPad edition features a film that The Rhoads directed as well. Visit the magazine's website to buy online.
