Tom Corbett's Art Decadence
Tom Corbett captures the attitude of a modern Miami bombshell in this month's issue of UK Cosmo, on newsstands now. The outcome is a colorful and voyeuristic six-page fashion story, which is the third of the four in the Miami series. The fashion is a nod to the 20's, as Corbett showcases clothing made of beads, fringe, and sequins.
Corbett shot the spread at the New Yorker, a classic 1950s Miami motel. He wanted the story to capture the film-like atmosphere of the location. The model, Rebecca, reminded Corbett of a young Nastassja Kinksi in the film Paris, Texas and he used that as inspiration on the shoot. Shelly Vella, the Fashion Director of UK Cosmo, says "To shoot the Deco story at a motel was Tom's idea and the instant he mentioned it, it inspired me to put slouchy trainers with some of the looks to dress down these beaded beauties. The end result feels filmic and voyeuristic. I love it."
