Nick & Chlo'e Exhibit in Berlin
Nick & Chlo'e's work is included in Based in Berlin at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum of Contemporary Art in Berlin. The exhibition features some 80 emerging artists who live and work in Berlin and covers a full range of contemporary art practices from paintings and drawings to sculpture, photography, film and video, as well as installations and text-based works.
Nick & Chlo'e collaborated with New York artist Ilya Lipkin, providing the photographic elements of Lipkin's mixed media piece. Their photographs appear as outtakes or lighting tests from a studio-based fashion shoot. They depict young men, clearly assistants, at work on the production of the shoot. While they are depicted as random extras in the shoot, Nick & Chlo'e and Lipkin actually carefully cast the young men and gave them distinct creative direction for the shoot.
Based in Berlin will run until July 24th. For more information, visit the museum's website.
