Emma Pritchard Styles the United Airlines Crowd
Emma Pritchard relied on her expertise in styling crowds for United Airline's latest promotions. "That's what I specialize in – groups of people," Pritchard explained. "It's one of my strengths. I'd imagine that groups of people combined with travel would be some stylists' nightmare, but it's not daunting to me."
She packed twelve suitcases full of high-end brands such as Brunello Cucinelli and Ermenegildo Zegna for the 25 talent before heading down to Texas and then Rio. "I always over-prepare," she remarked. "The real challenge these days is confirming sizes ... I can guess that the models will be sample size, but with men's tailoring, for example, there's so many variables including sleeve length." For the boat shot, Pritchard brought along numerous swim trunks and 40 bikinis, by her count. "The man had to have well-fitted bottoms and I picked a halter top for the woman so the garments stayed put," she said. "I don't want to compromise the photographer's picture by having to run on set and fix something."
