Clements Ribeiro's Fall/Winter 2013 Campaign by Uli Weber
Clements Ribeiro tapped Uli Weber to shoot the London-based brand's fall/winter campaign.
"This is the second season I've worked with Suzanne [Clements] and Inacio [Ribeiro], and we became good friends as well, so we have a strong working relationship," said Weber. "We bounce ideas backwards and forwards." For the spring 2013 ads, Weber photographed a pair of models in a studio; this time, "It was a mutual decision to take it outside, on-location, rather than against a seamless background ... after a long search, we found the perfect place to reflect the collection," he noted.
The backdrop was a private, turn-of-the century house in the British capital that contains "the most beautiful wallpaper," according to Weber, "so we concentrated very much on surfaces instead of actual themes. We felt the collection was so intricate that we'd do a still shoot – there's not much movement in it – in front of a wonderful surface or stained glass window. It didn't need much else ... the designers like something straightforward so viewers can concentrate on the actual garments."
Though, as Weber reiterated, the photos also "show how beautiful wallpaper can be."
