Born and raised in Madrid, Lucas Benarroch moved to New York in the early 2000s to pursue his education at Parsons New School for Design. Exploring art in different forms, including graffiti, Lucas began creating under the name, MRKA. His combination of creative strengths including graphic design, illustration, motion, and installation design, led to his expertise in experiential creative direction.
MRKA is known for his impeccable work ethic and ability to adapt to each visual problem. Versatile in both style and medium, MRKA steps into whatever creative role necessary. His work has been featured at galleries and exhibitions around the world including Wallplay, Museo Mar and The Cooper Union. He has been invited to speak at Universidad de Salamanca and Central Saint Martins in London. His commercial work can be seen with clients such as HBO, Glamour, NASA and WUTANG.
