Uli Weber Captures Pete Townshend for Intelligent Life
Uli Weber photographs iconic rocker Pete Townshend of The Who for Intelligent Life. The magazine is a quarterly publication on life, culture, and style from The Economist. Townshend is profiled inside on his long career in rock-and-roll, his literary career, and his relationship with collaborator and Who lead singer Roger Daltry.
Weber captured Townshend at his home The Wick in Richmond, England. The late English actor Sir John Mills and another rock legend, Ronnie Woods of The Rolling Stones, previously owned the house. Weber spent about 4 hours with Townshend, photographing him in different spaces in the house. The photoshoot was the first that Townshend had granted in three years.
