Tom Corbett Lines Up Spring's 'Key Players'
Following his cinematic, Hitchcock-themed spread for Cosmopolitan Fashion U.K.'s debut, Tom Corbett took a different direction for the mag's second issue, shooting the best of British High Street in front of dynamic black-and-white backdrops. "Taking the British trends, I created a narrative through the lighting, background, and model," Corbett explained. "I wanted to give it a quirk and a sense of energy, so I used a punchy ring flash" that, combined with model Kyla Moran's poses, animated the prints, sportswear, and lace.
He and B&A set designer Erin Swift worked closely on the background, creating graphic lines and polka dots to draw eyes into the frame. The twice-yearly, limited-edition spinoff is "bigger and beautifully formatted," according to Corbett, himself now one of Cosmo Fashion U.K.'s "Key Players."
