As Mulheres de Grey Gardens – O Musical was the first Portuguese-language version of the Broadway musical Grey Gardens. Staged in Brazil, the production was based on the 1975 documentary of the same title. Sensorium was tasked with creating the 3D projection-mapped stage design for the two-hour performance at the Sala Baden Powell in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
Working with a team of 3D artists and architects, Sensorium created dynamic panels encompassing the limits of the stage via front and rear projections. The theatrical experience was noted for bringing a heightened sensation of visual immersion to the audience through the interaction of light, shadow, and projected content.
In Brazil the show was nominated for 3 Cesgranrio Awards, 3 APTR Awards, and the production's projection mapping and set design was selected for the 2015 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Theatre Architecture representing Brazil.
