Nick & Chloe and FWY Studios work together to bring to life the colorful characters of Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Mini line for Target. The line caters to children, from infants to tweens, and features tutus, plaids, punk pants, and faux leather jackets. The collaborative effort between the B&A talents mixes photography and CGI to create a fun, colorful campaign. Nick & Chloe photographed the campaign on the streets of Tokyo’s Harajuku and Akihabara (“The Electric City”) districts. FWY Studios created the 3D CGI icons that appear in the print ads as well as the original Harajuku characters for the television spots.
Nick & Chloé captured Kyary Pamyu Pamyu on the streets of her native Tokyo. The famed Harajuku model is releasing her first album this summer, called “Moshi Moshi Harajuku.” The techno-pop album is produced by Nakata Yasutaka and is said to include the singer’s unique approach to language through various expressions in her lyrics, often referred to as “Kyary language.” Nick & Chloé photographed Kyary to promote the album’s first press edition.
Nick & Chloé‘s work is included in Based in Berlin at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum of Contemporary Art in Berlin. The exhibition features some 80 emerging artists who live and work in Berlin and covers a full range of contemporary art practices from paintings and drawings to sculpture, photography, film and video, as well as installations and text-based works.
French sensation Zahia Dehar is launching a new lingerie brand. To promote the line, Zahia and her team commissioned Nick & Chloé to create a short but provocative film, “Zahia Dehar Striptease in the Cat Cave.” In the film, Zahia dances around one of the chateau’s stately rooms and performs a seductive striptease that brings to life even a supposedly inanimate cathead sculpture. Nick & Chloé successfully challenged themselves to blend their poetic and slightly edgy style with Zahia’s fairytale-inspired aesthetic in the film’s pink fantasy theme.
Nick & Chloé photograph pro skater Stevie Williams for the New Era Flagbearer series. Brooklyn Brothers in New York commissioned the photography team to create portraits of local LA heroes. New Era chose musicians, artists, athletes, and writers with individual styles and who are making a difference and changing perceptions. Once homeless, Williams is now a pro skater, the founder of DGK, a skateboard design company, and a media mogul.
Any city can set your imagination on fire. For the “I Am One” campaign, Nike chose London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, and Amsterdam as its five inspiring cities to showcase the re-release of its new sneaker, the Air Maxim (originally the Air Max 1).
For the print campaign, Nick & Chloe shot legendary athletes such as Gael Monfils (no. 1 men’s tennis player in France), Maxime Médard (French rugby union fullback), and Patrice Evra (French International footballer for Manchester United and the French national team).
