B&A Artists for Fashion’s Night Out

Fashion’s Night Out, the after-hours shopping event, returns for a third year this Thursday, September 8th. The global initiative is sponsored by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and was first put on in New York back in 2009. It expanded around the US and the globe the following year. For one night only, retailers stay open late and throw parties and offer giveaways in the hope of getting people to shop. Jeremyville, Stockton Johnson, Kareem Black, and Tes One lend their talents this year to the events.

The Vader Project

Gary Baseman, Jeremyville (pictured), and Thunderdog Studios were among the 100 artists chosen to participate in The Vader Project. Artists were given a 1:1 scale replica of the Darth Vader Helmet used in George Lucas’ Star Wars films to re-imagine and customize. The villainous Darth Vader’s helmet is instantly recognizable in pop culture; in the hands of artists the helmet takes on a new life.

The project premiered in 2007, starting in Los Angeles and then making its way through Europe and Japan before ending at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The helmets are now on display at Freeman’s Auctioneers and Appraisers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania until they are auctioned on July 10, 2010.

Jeremyville and Anti Sweden Denim Collaboration

Norwegian denim label Anti Sweden releases limited edition denim collaboration with Jeremyville. Anti Sweden’s “evil and darkness” combines with the “acid pop” look of Jeremyville, with the artist depicting surreal images of menace, carnage, and destruction. Only 666 pairs of the limited edition jeans exist. The first 400 purchasers have the option of receiving a large-scale collector’s edition screenprint, each signed by Jeremyville.

Comments Anti Sweden, “[Jeremyville's] interpretation of evil and darkness combined with his signature style ended up better than we could ever imagine from our darkest fantasies. Its a study in storytelling thru a set of intricate details that you need to dive into.”
