Ilovedust collaborates with Wieden + Kennedy NY for an exciting, multi-media branding for ESPN’s Winter X Games in Aspen. The design studio worked with the team at Wieden + Kennedy to create a multi-facetted campaign consisting of two 30-second animated spots, a course map, for the interactive site and custom posters featuring action sports’ biggest names, including Sebastien Toutant. The campaign blends rich illustration in Ilovedust’s signature style with photography from previous Winter X Games.
The Winter X Games will air January 26- 29th on ESPN.
Ilovedust and TBWA Shanghai have just launched the first out of a trilogy of animations for GE’s latest digital campaign – Future Folklore. The animations tie together traditional Chinese folklore stories and GE’s modern technologies with a twist. The first animation follows the story of the epic battle of Red Cliff where Kung Ming and his allies defeating an attacking arming using wind power against their arrows. This well-known story then in turn becomes a metaphor for GE’s use of wind power in the present.
Ilovedust illustrate the 2011 Do Something Awards. Ilovedust worked with VH1 in New York and Dempsey Productions in Los Angeles to create a show package. The annual awards show honors young people’s commitment to social change. Actress Jane Lynch hosted this year’s ceremony and celebrities like David Beckham, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato were in attendance to hand out awards. Categories included “Athlete,” “Movie Star,” “Twitter,” “Festival,” and the main prize, “The Do Something Award.”
Ilovedust and Sarah J. Coleman create original illustrations for HP’s new TouchPad campaign. The WebOs-based tablet makes multi-tasking easier for users and also allows them to download movies and tv shows, browse the web, and play games.
Ilovedust create a live Formula One-inspired mural for Red Bull. Ilovedust traveled to Monaco last week to help celebrate “The art of racing” at the Monaco Grand Prix 2011. Red Bull Racing team’s Sebastian Vettel went on to win the race.
Ilovedust create a taco truck for Armenco Catering’s line of bespoke trucks. After spotting several taco trucks while traveling through California, the design boutique was inspired to create one of their own.
In the wake of the devastating March 11th earthquake and tsunami in Japan, five B&A artists have created original work to benefit relief efforts. The Selby, Tim Marrs, Ilovedust, Paul Oakley and Tatiana Arocha have submitted designs to One Thousand Cranes for Japan that can be downloaded and made into origami cranes. A donation to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund offers up a downloadable design with instructions for how to fold it into a crane.
Ilovedust has released the “Black Book”, a collection of their work from the past year. The design boutique wanted to create something fresh and innovative. The 44-page book comes in die-cut slipcase, which is covered in a combination of gold and black foil stamps. Included inside are global projects for big companies like Nike and Kiehl’s as well as smaller projects for independent companies that Ilovedust supports in their local community in East London.
The Toyota Prius is celebrating its first decade with an illustrated history. Ilovedust created 10 comprehensive illustrations depicting key facts and events. Starting in 2000, the year the groundbreaking car debuted in dealerships, each narrative highlights milestones from the car’s history as well as world events. The Prius’s global expansion, technological advances, awards, and its place in pop culture are all highlighted.
Running takes on another dimension with the Nike+ GPS App for iPhones. The Nike+ App allows people to track and record all of their runs, from metrics such as distance and time to which leg of the run was the fastest. Users can also log online to set up running challenges with friends and compare each person’s progress. At the completion of each challenge, listen to a recording of encouragement from Nike athletes and celebrities.
Nike celebrates the unveiling of their new iPhone app with a new campaign by ilovedust. The graphics by ilovedust are displayed in Nike stores internationally. Sarah Worthington of ilovedust says, “ilovedust has been working on the Nike+ GPS iPhone App campaign for some time and are very excited it’s finally happened. The artwork was to support the launch of the new Nike+ iPhone app campaign. A lot of ideas, a lot of hard work, but definitely worth it! A proud moment for ilovedust as this has now been rolled out across Niketowns worldwide!”
The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节), also referred to as the Moon Festival or Lantern Festival, is a major holiday in China and Vietnam. Family members and friends gather underneath the full moon at the autumnal equinox to celebrate the harvest. An indispensable part of festivities is eating mooncakes (月饼), round pastries with a thin skin that contain a sweet, dense filling of ingredients such as red bean paste, lotus seed paste, dates and walnut paste, and more.
B&A Reps Asia has enlisted B&A artists to create 6 unique mooncake paper crafts for the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 22nd. Download the mooncake craft templates, print them out, assemble them, and then give them out as gifts! The paper craft kit includes five paper mooncakes and one box to hold them all. Andrew Bannecker, FriendsWithYou, ilovedust, Nicola Meiring, and Stanley Chow all contributed mooncake designs. Am I Collective designed the gift box.
The American Cancer Society and The Martin Agency team up with artists and musicians for their “More Birthdays” movement, because “A world with less cancer is a world with more birthdays.” Artists were given uplifting facts in the fight against cancer to use as inspiration for new work. Musicians recorded their own version of the song “Happy Birthday” especially for the American Cancer Society. People who visit morebirthdays.com can purchase custom art, send personalized music videos, or send an art e-card with a special birthday message.
Artists invited to join the movement include Am I Collective, Andrew Bannecker, ilovedust, and Kai & Sunny. Musicians Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Devo, and Colbi Caillat also lent their support. Lipton Brisk Iced Teas recently unveiled new flavors – lemon, strawberry melon, tea-lemonade, raspberry, peach, and sweet tea. To celebrate the exciting variety of new tastes, they asked six artists from around the world to illustrate packaging design based on the inspiration they received from trying the iced tea.
ilovedust, Mcfaul Studio, and Tristan Eaton worked with agency Safari Sundays for the new campaign. ilovedust describes the peach flavor as “a sweet fresh taste with a twist.” McFaul’s Raspberry label (pictured above) reflects “a monster taste explosion.” And Tristan’s evocative label for sweet tea shows “that taste of absolute satisfaction.”
ilovedust and Ray Smith collaborated with Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco on a local media blitz for the greater Washington DC area. For Adobe, they created a series of creative intrepretations of government facilities to promote how Adobe technology was powering the Open Government movement. Washington DC locals were surrounded by the artwork on wrapped store fronts, building facades, billboards, and metro stations.
Neenah papers worked with the agency Addison to come up with the vision for its Annual Report. ilovedust was on hand to collaborate with Addison. Using all of the elements of Neenah, ilovedust created a graphic cover full of bold shapes for the eye to explore. Following publication, the Annual Report won a Graphis Platinum award. Graphis is an international journal of visual communication that maintains the ‘absolute highest level of creative integrity’, awarding only the best design and printed materials.
