Bobby Fisher Captures Jewel for InStyle

Bobby Fisher photographs Jewel at home in Texas for the January 2012 issue of InStyle Magazine. The singer lives with her rodeo-champ husband Ty Murray and their new son on a 2,400-acre ranch. The sprawling, airy home reflects Murray’s cowboy practicality and Jewel’s feminine bohemian taste.

Bobby Fisher Photographs Ashley Bickerton for T Magazine

Bobby Fisher captures artist Ashley Bickerton at his home in Bali for T Magazine’s Holiday 2010 issue.  Bickerton is a former 80s wild-child artist from the Neo-Geo movement. Short for “new geometry”, the movement was defined by Bickerton, Jeff Koons, and Peter Halley and was a mix of pop, minimalist, and conceptual art.  He moved to Bali full time in 1993, searching for a refuge close to sea and surf.  During Fisher’s visit, Bickerton was at work on new art for a spring show in New York as well as picking old art to be featured in an upcoming book.

Bobby Fisher Captures a Surfer’s Paradise for T Magazine

Bobby Fisher photographs the exclusive surf resort of Nihiwatu for T Magazine’s winter travel edition. Located on the remote Indonesian island of Sumba, Nihiwatu is home to one of the best surf breaks in the world. Adventurers flock to the eco-resort to test themselves against the legendary waves and to see one of the last Stone Age cultures on Earth. Claude Graves, one of only 3 Westerners living permanently on the island, has spent the last 20 years building the resort. It functions completely off the grid, producing much of its own food, electricity, and diesel fuel. In addition to surfing, Nihiwatu boasts world-class fishing, diving and snorkeling and land activities such as mountain biking, trekking, yoga, and massages.

Presenting New Artist: Bobby Fisher

A Virginia native, Bobby Fisher stumbled into the world of photography by way of a band break-up, followed by countless evenings recording music in his bedroom at the Chelsea Hotel in New York. When an assistant photographer job came his way, he left his bedside and the rest is history.

An avid surfer since the age of 10, he has traveled the world with a board in one hand and a camera in the other. His sense of adventure and free spirit carries over into his photos, capturing the essence and spirit of beautiful people and places. His clients include Another Magazine, Blackbook, Departures, GQ, InStyle, Nylon, New York Times, Rollingstone, T Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Visionaire, W, Bank of America, and Avon. Click here to view more of his work.
