Thornberg & Forester (T&F) and agency Allen & Gerritsen created four :15 campaign spots for Friendly’s Restaurants. Created entirely in-house at T&F, the spots debuted on www.Friendlys.com and on the brand’s social media channels, including YouTube and Facebook. “The Friendly’s work called for a diverse and talented production company, and Thornberg & Forester delivered on every front,” said a&g chief creative officer Gary Greenberg. “From shooting and editing to animation, they did a great job bringing our ideas to life.”
Kareem Black works with Hornitos Tequila to create a series of GIFs showing people living it up during a night out on the town. This fun night filled with spontaneous happenings of course could only be possible if Hornitos is involved. The idea of doing GIFs came from The Barbarian Group agency and was created as mini repeating ads of moments throughout the night. Each GIF is different and quirky in its own right, with Mexican wrestlers and people in bear suits making cameos. Our own Emma Pritchard styled this party night shoot.
Alan Cresto meets network television in Fashion Star, NBC’s design-oriented reality competition series. Sponsored by Macy’s, Saks and Express, the show celebrates a successful second season and boasts celebrity judges Nicole Ritchie, Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos.
At the end of each challenge, buyers at Macy’s, Saks and Express had the chance to purchase and sell the winning design online. Alan photographed the winning pieces selected by Macy’s, which were then posted for sale on the department store’s website. The Fashion Star designed pieces were a hit with Macy’s consumers and quickly sold out. We think it might have to do with the fantastic photography.

“Most photographers maintain a crappy old blog where they post some “personal” pictures and talk about their creative slump. And then there’s Emily Nathan, who travels around the world to exotic locales, often with a team of producers, make-up artists, and models. She has a lot of talented friends who do the same. So why not make a really cool blog that makes you wish you were her, and use it as a subtle marketing piece of your enormous talent, which will continue to make you wish you were her?” That’s a quote from photography resource site Photo Shelter, who included Emily’s online magazine Tiny Atlas in a recent article titled “16 Things Hipsters Did To Improve The Internet.”
The New York Times wrote a comprehensive piece on performance artist Paul McCarthy called “The Demented Imagineer” that examines his body of work and provides insight into his latest project “White Snow,” a provocative reinterpretation of the classic fairy tale. For the article, NYT called on Stephen Wilkes to snap portraits of McCarthy and “White Snow’s” cast. The main photograph pictures the entire cast amongst the artificial shrubbery of the forest with McCarthy in the center of it all. The rest of the photographs are portraits of the dwarves who are all sporting curious outfits of underwear over tights paired with college sweatshirts.

Brian Doben and Elizabeth Arden team up to launch an interactive website for the beauty company’s new skin care line, Prevage. The Prevage site includes images of the product, a time lapse of an apple, and before and after photographs of the models using UV light. Take it for a spin here.
