Bio: Mario Wagner lives and works as an artist and illustrator in Berkeley, California. Mario's work is a visual commentary where technology and organics intersect to create a lush and colorful environment. His assemblages employ an artistic use of classic early 50's iconography and modernist graphic tones. His illustrations disregard the rules of time and space, often juxtaposing seemingly disparate elements to form a unified whole. Architectural structures, clean lines and pops of color frame each illustration and draws in the viewer. There is also a certain pervasive universality that exists in Mario’s work within his depiction of people, who are often faceless.

His work has been published in renowned anthologies, including 3x3 Magazine and Illustration Now! Mario has also contributed work to national advertising campaigns for brands such as ABSOLUT VODKA, Cheerios, IKEA and his work regularly appears in publications like the New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and WIRED Magazine. His fine art has been shown in numerous exhibitions in Berlin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London, and displayed at art fairs like SCOPE, NADA and Art Basel Miami.
