Born and raised outside Boston, Matthew was drawn to New York City in his early twenties where he began studying Interior Design at F.I.T. While in school he created display work for shops and television, most notably for Barneys New York. Matthew graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Interior Design and began working full time for architect S. Russell Groves, specializing in modern design and interiors. While there he worked a variety of retail and residential interiors as well as furniture design. After three years with Groves he accepted a position as an Associate Style Editor at Martha Stewart Living magazine. His work there focused on creating decorating concepts and providing content and props for a variety of stories. In 2002, Matthew went freelance and immediately began working on an assortment of commercial and editorial projects which have taken him around the country and exposed him to a variety of situations and challenges. Matthew currently lives and works in New York's East Village.
